Biblical Literacy

At West Jefferson Christian School, we believe biblical literacy is more than simply learning the stories of the Bible. While understanding the content of Scripture is essential, true biblical literacy involves understanding the overarching message of God’s Word and His plan of redemption throughout history.

Too often, students learn isolated Bible stories without developing a deeper theological framework that helps them understand how Scripture fits together and applies to everyday life. Our desire is to help students build both a strong knowledge of the Bible and a clear understanding of the theology that shapes it.

Through Bible classes and the integration of biblical truth across every subject, we seek to teach students how to think biblically, discern truth faithfully, and live with meaningful participation in God’s world. Our goal is to support the Christian home and strengthen the ministry of the local church by helping students develop a lifelong understanding of Scripture, worship, and discipleship.

Inductive Theology

At WJCS, we believe a strong understanding of theology should grow naturally from a growing understanding of Scripture. Rather than simply teaching students what to think, we seek to teach them how to study, understand, and apply God’s Word faithfully.

This approach, which we call Inductive Theology, encourages students to build their understanding of truth directly from the Bible itself. As students grow in biblical literacy, they also grow in wisdom, discernment, and confidence in their faith.

Our desire is to guide students on a lifelong journey of knowing God more deeply through His Word and learning to live faithfully in light of it.
