About WJCS
Why WJCS?
Every parent understands the weight of responsibility. From the beginning, God has entrusted children to the home, and education is shaping their hearts and minds every day—teaching them what to think, believe, love, and live for.At West Jefferson Christian School, we believe education is more than information; it is formation. True education begins with the understanding that all truth belongs to God. The Bible is the foundation of learning, and Jesus Christ is central to all truth, wisdom, character, and life.We teach every subject through the light of God’s Word. Science reveals design, history reveals providence, mathematics reveals order, and music reflects beauty and worship. Our desire is for education to continually point students to Christ. We also recognize that families are not meant to carry this responsibility alone. That is the heart of WJCS—we come alongside Christian families in the work of discipleship. Our goal is not only academic success, but to prepare students to glorify God in every area of life: to live mission-minded lives, serve others faithfully, stand on Scripture, and use their gifts for God’s glory. We invite families to join us in that mission—for the glory of God and for generations to come.Core Values
-
We believe the Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God and the final authority for faith, truth, and daily living. As such, our students should develop a love for the Word of God as well as fundamental understanding of its content. When a student graduates from WJCS, our desire is that they would have learned a systematic theological framework that will enable them to live a true life of worship before God.
-
We believe the Bible is a “missional narrative” and we teach a “missional hermeneutic”. There is one God who has one mission - the redemption of all things and the restoration of peace. In God’s plan, before the foundation of the world, He sovereignly planned to include us in partnership with Him (Ephesians 2:10). When a student graduates from WJCS, our desire is that they would have submit to the “missional narrative” of God - the only true way to find peace.
-
We believe the Bible teaches a standard of living characterized by the pursuit of excellence. From the Director, to the faculty and staff, down to the students - achieving the very best we can be for God is the standard. When a student graduates from WJCS, our desire is that they would have internalized this belief that Christ demands our very best in every facet of our lives.
